North Pole Refinery Engineering Support

KRC provided professional engineering services to PetroStar’s North Pole Refinery, which included multiple tasks to be completed. The first task involved a site visit with two piping designers to walk through each project task and provide 3D scanning services. The second task encompassed engineering design services, including updating the facility’s 3D model and providing necessary documentation. The specific projects within this scope included the conversion of E-224 from kerosene to diesel service, establishing a new pipeline connection from #2FO to Golden Valley Electrical Association (GVEA), installing a new Kerosene Product Cooler (E-216-2), and adding thermowells and thermocouples with wireless transmitters. Coordination with the designated PSI point of contact and government agencies for necessary approvals was also included.
